At Babymuma, we believe that every mother deserves holistic, compassionate, and culturally sensitive support on her journey through motherhood. Babymuma was founded by Rachael, a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, educator, and mother who understands first-hand the challenges, pressures, and triumphs of the motherhood experience.

Our Mission

  • To empower mothers to heal, thrive, and connect with their true selves.

  • To address the gaps in maternal mental health support, especially for Black and minority ethnic mothers.

  • To offer culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care that acknowledges the impact of systemic racism and lived experiences.

What We Offer ✔️ 1:1 Mental Health Support Sessions✔️ Breastfeeding Support and Guidance✔️ Culturally Sensitive Therapy Approaches✔️ Teaching Practical Coping Mechanisms✔️ Advocacy for Co-Occupation (Mother and Baby Wellbeing)✔️ Workshops for Healing Trauma and Building Resilience✔️ Reflective Journals, Vision Boards, and Healing Resources

Our Story

Rachael has over 17 years of experience working within special needs education and mental health care, with qualifications including a BA in Education and Early Childhood Studies and a BSc in Occupational Therapy. After personally experiencing postnatal mental health challenges, Rachael felt called to create Babymuma—a nurturing community that sees, hears, and supports mothers through every stage.

Our Belief Motherhood is a profound transformation, and it should never be navigated alone. Babymuma exists because we believe that prevention is better than cure — that by supporting women early, we can build stronger, healthier families and communities.

"Prevention is better than cure."
